Dr. Cooke will always be my mentor. He is one of the giants upon whose shoulders I learned to see the world in a different way. I thank God for having allowed me to spend many days in his presence.

My sisters, Liz & Ruth and I feel like we know your family. Our mother, Mary Rempel, was your babysitter/nanny for you children when you were still going to school. She loved you immensely, and talked about you a lot. Our condolences on losing both your parents so close together. She loved you like her own. Thinking of you and praying for your comfort. (We also inherited your dog, Charlie, and he lived with us for many, many years.

My condolences to the family of Dr. Robert Cooke. My association with Dr. Cooke was brief but emphatic. In 1963 I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma and I met him few short days prior to his performing radical surgery to remove cancerous lymph glands from my right groin. Dr. Lloyd Bartlett, my family doctor assisted. As you can observe I have been a cancer survivor for nearly 50 years, largely due to his mediclal expertise. Thank you Dr. Bob, I will never forget you.Dave Drybrough

We worked with Dr. Cooke for many years at Manitoba Health Services Commission and often picked him and Dr. Mitchell up to attend our monthly luncheon after we all retired. Dr. Cooke provided much appreciated advice to staff in the Insurance and Facilities Divisions at MHSC. He was a genuinely nice person

I worked with Dr. Cooke @ HSC l973-1980. He was a gifted surgeon, a pleasure to work with, showed empathy for patients, great sense of humor, and most of all loved live and his remarkable family. God Bless you.

He was my favorite person/doctor in the early 60's. He even made a house-call when my husband was very ill. Told me, that my daughter would HATE her name of Cynthia in later life ! He was a people person !
