Rob’s good nature and steady intelligence came through in his many kindnesses, and his forty years devotion to Marcia. I was lucky to have had the benefit of his chauffeuring, barbecue skills, and, on a recent birthday, his matchless lemon meringue pie. I'll always remember his beautiful voice. Calm and mellifluous, it would not have been out of place narrating nature documentaries.

I am saddened to see this news. I worked with Rob at CRA and considered him both a friend and a mentor. No one was better to talk through a complex HR matter with. But Rob was more than that. He was also a kind ear for personal problems with reasoned advice, and always good for a laugh too. Marcia, you are in my thoughts.

I last ran into Rob at another friends funeral service - I didn't know that Rob and Ilmars knew each other until "Pigs with Wings" was mentioned..... I also last spoke with Auntie Dee after that visit. I am saddened by this news, both myself and my wife Willa pass along our condolences to you and your family. Rob was a great person and will be missed for sure.

My Uncle Rob was a very caring and thoughtful uncle. From sleepovers with Auntie Marcia and Uncle Rob, to home cooked meals when I came to do haircuts. Rob was always curious and engaged with what was going on in my life. He would ask questions about my last trip which would have me reflect on my experience in a new way. He was very generous with me and I remember him pitching in for my graduation dress when the one I chose was somewhat pricier than expected. I’ll remember Rob for many things. His intelligence, incredible cooking, baking and bbq skills, and a love for Bruce Springsteen. However I will mostly remember him for his love for my Aunt and what a great Uncle he was throughout my life.

I am so sorry to read of Rob's passing. To Marcia and his family - I worked with Rob at the CRA - what a very fine man! Every conversation we had I was left with something to contemplate, with a curiosity that made me want to go back and ask more questions; his perspective was unique and informed. He provided me with helpful, measured and sound advice . . . and then we would trail off onto the next Bruce Springsteen tour and city he and Marcia would be enjoying. Rob left this world far too soon but left it a better place. My deepest condolences to all who loved him . . . may memories bring comfort over time as you grieve the loss of Rob's physical presence in your life.
