ROGER GENEREUX

March 21, 2013

ROGER GENEREUX It is with deep regret that we announce Roger’s passing on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 82 years. Roger leaves behind his beloved wife of 25 years, Vera; stepchildren, Sharon (Tenis), Brian (Penny), Wayne, Brenda (Clayton), Chris, David, Jennifer (Brad); children from a previous marriage, Gordon (Dorothy), Dianne, Linda, Grace, Gwen (Bernie), Eric (Jermaine); 27 grandkids and 18 great-grandkids. In 1931 Roger was born in Montreal. He grew up in Hearst and later settled in Sioux Lookout and moved to Winnipeg in the early 1980s. Roger was a heavy equipment operator working on various roads including the Trans-Canada Highway. He retired from Buchanan Forest Products where he built many of the pulp roads still in use today. Roger had a wonderful, quirky sense of humour, and a wonderful smile that will be missed so much by anyone that knew him. He loved Sunday drives, and watching his wrestling. He also loved playing a good game of cribbage. In compliance with Roger’s wishes, there will be no Funeral Service. The family wishes to say special thanks to Dr. St. Godard and staff at the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit for making Roger’s last days as comfortable as possible. If one so wishes, donations can be made to the St. Boniface General Hospital Palliative Care Unit, 409 Tache Road, Winnipeg, Manitoba R2H 2A6.
