My memories of Ron are from earlier in life. My introduction to Ron Muns was in a snowball fight in St James. I had always had a great arm and was known for my accuracy...but this guy was a hawkeye...and could lob a snowball incredible distances on target. We became instant friends. We often would enjoy accuracy competitions as youth and young men, whenever stones and a river were near. Ron used to entertain all his buds in school with his talent for drawing. He could draw anything...but the exaggerated cartoon type drawings of fast cars with 'monster' drivers was his forte. Then he met the drums...boy could he play. Ron was a natural, and we formed a band with his older brother Ben, and Joe from St James. Great times. Ron was just about the easiest going fellow you could ever hope to meet. He was very sensitive to the feelings of those around him, and he was a good friend. He sure loved a good joke, loved to laugh...and wasn't afraid of a good prank. He loved fishing too, and we spent many a day fishing the banks of the Red and Assiniboine Rivers, looking for big Catfish, Silver Bass and whatever would bite the line. I was blessed to know Ron and count him as a friend. My heartfelt best wishes to Donna, and all those mourning his loss. Dave Abbott
