Oh, Shara, we just learned of Ron's passing. Steve connected with Kyle on facebook last week and when he got back to Fort McMurray he shared that sad news with us today. We are so terribly sad for you, Kyle, Karlee,Colin and Ron's family. Ron, was an amazing husband, father and friend. He had and infectious smile and laugh and his love and respect for you Shara was always evident. Although we live so far away, we still remember those who touched our lives in a special way. And our friends, Ron and Shara were two of those people.

I was shocked to come across Ron's passing in the paper today...he & I had been childhood friends. I spent many hours at his home on Leighton in EK - and have many fond memories of the fun and craziness that young kids get into. It's been 25 plus years since I've seen Ron - going back to high school but the memories of our fun together growing up on Leighton will remain. So sorry for your loss & my condolences to all the family (Mr. Peterson included)

I left Ron Peterson a voicemail so we could do coffee in preparation for a morning meeting. 5 minutes later, I received word of his unwelcome departure. What a shock?I sat next to Ron for over 5 years. I heard his authoritative voice every single workday and sometimes weekends. He provided leadership, direction and motivation for hundreds of people in the organization. Ron was a true hero. He made things happen. The impact of his work continues to be felt.May God protect you all in this sad and challenging period. What a hero!

GWL has lost a very special team leader... the IT community has lost a very special friend. Ron was so involved with the MS bike ride. His expertise in Citrix was top drawer. I enjoyed working with Ron on projects at GWL. I will miss him dearly. A special prayer goes out to his family through this difficult time.

My condolences to the Peterson Family, Mr. Peterson, Joanne, Victor, Larry, Shara and Children. I grew up with Ronnie, we all played together everyday for many years. Ronnie, Garth, Patrick, Leslie, Alan and myself. The endless games of hide'n seek (Ron's blond hair gave him away every time), scrub baseball, raiding crab apple trees and gardens, board games in the back shed of your house bring back many happy memories. My prayers and thoughts are with you all. May God comfort you all at this time.

We both loved and respected Ron. He was more than a colleague and friend. He will be sorely missed. We still can't believe he's no longer with us and send our love and empathy to Shara, Kyle, Carly, Colin and the rest of the family.

I have been friends with Ron's oldest son Kyle for the past 12 years. Over the course of our friendship I had an opportunity to be involved in various family events where Ron would take lead and ensure that everyone was having a great time and that our needs were always met. From driving us all over the place, to putting up with our obnoxious teenage behaviour and nerdy game parties in his basement, he was always willing to be involved with our activities and would always put everyone before himself. I'm really going to miss hearing your contagious laughter and your incredible hospitality at the annual Fishing Derby that I always looked forward to. My heart and thoughts go out to Kyle, Carly, Colin, Shara and the rest of the family. Rest in peace sir, it was quite a pleasure to have had you in my life.

I worked for the same company as Ron but in a different city. We never met in person but we spoke on the phone many times. Ron was a real pro, very well-respected and a pleasure to work with. He had a sense of humour, too, than even managed to come through in our technical work environment.Deepest condolences to his family and friends.
