Growing up with the Cooke family at the lake, I have fond memories of Mrs Cooke from early childhood on. The cottage days were such a happy time for us all. Mrs Cooke was such a lovely warm person and remained a compassionate and loyal friend to my mother.

Ruth Graham (as I knew her) was a colleague interested in Rehab and MSK issues. She was a real gem and I was always delighted to have her on a mutual committee as she was a clear thinker with very practical solutions. It was a pleasure and honour to have known her and worked with her. Her memory and contributions will live on in the issues and people whose paths she crossed. Sincere condolences to husband Bob, son Robert and the entire Cooke family. As Ruth would have said.... Per ardua ad astra.

Hi Sheila: So sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. It is very sad to lose a parent, someone who has been with you your entire life. She sounded like a wonderful person, and has obviously passed on her passion for life to you. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Love Susan.

Ruth Grahame's help as a mentor and kindness as a friend was invaluable to me and to many other junior colleagues, as well as to her students. Her warmth and insight saved the day many times for me. Ruth's love for her family and her good humour at work created a positive atmosphere wherever she was.

Ruth Cooke was a role model for so many young women in Winnipeg. Growing up a few doors down from the Cookes, I watched as this highly intelligent, gorgeous and vivacious woman managed a great career, four kids and her much loved Bob. All of the Wrights are thinking of you as you say good-bye to your wonderful Mom.
