We were classmates at Sacred Heart and High School and she was so jolly and happy and made us laugh I will miss her even though I've only seen her a few times in recent years with cousin Irene. My condolences to family and all her many friends.

I had the pleasure of visiting Sylvia with my Aunt Irene in recent years. Your mother was gifted with exceptional intellect and memory. She spoke reverently of her mother, what she accomplished in the raising of her large family in extreme poverty, but always with cleanliness and dignity to the best of her ability. I loved that about Sylvia. She had a lively interest in our genealogy as well. I shall always remember her with warmth.

I knew your mother all my life, but got to know her better in the early '50s. I remember thinking she is the smartest Chartrand I ever knew. I live in London but visited Winnipeg twice in the last five years. We always got together and reminisced about the past. Sylvia had a very keen memory for detail and always told it like it was. I shall miss her.
