SHEILA MARY FRIEND
Sheila Mary Friend passed away peacefully at the Oakview Personal Care Home in Winnipeg with family by her side on Friday, April 3, 2015 at the age of 89 years.
Sheila is survived by her four children, Anthony (Faye), Liza (King), Peter, Alan, and their father Reg, along with numerous grandchildren and a great grandson. She was predeceased by her sister Pat.
On January 29, 1926 Sheila was born in Lethbridge, Alberta to Hugh and Stella Allingham. After spending her early years in Alberta and Saskatchewan, she attended school in Winnipeg and resided there until her passing. Sheila was a lover of all animals and cared for her many beloved dogs over her lifetime, contributing generously to the Humane Society and the World Wildlife Fund. She was a talented knitter and seamstress and created many a sweater for her family over the years.
At Sheila’s request there will be no Funeral Service.
Her family thanks the staff at Oakview Place for their dedicated care of Sheila in her final years.
