Stanley Anthony Pochailo

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Stanley (Stan) Pochailo born in Rainy River, Ontario May 25, 1957, beloved husband of Debbie for the last 48 years. Besides his wife Debbie, he is survived by his son, Colin Pochailo (Maria) and much loved grandfather to Giulia and Easton.

Predeceased by his father Anthony and his Mother Margaret, he also leaves behind his sisters, Carol Barthelette (Dale R.), Janice Funke (Dale) brother Stephen (Maureen), his sister Jodi Janzen as well as many nieces and nephews.

Stan was a friend to all who knew him and was very close with his nephew Jamie (Deanna) and long-time friends of the Donald Baldwin family who became family, and he cherished and enjoyed their company and unwavering support throughout the years.

He and his family were longtime residents of Fort Rouge and was Past President of Riverview Community Centre. He was a key member of the Riverview Mudhens” slow pitch baseball team.

Stan was a constant in the stands of the endless sports that his son Colin played. Whether it was a practice, a game or anything in between, he was there. He was a proud grandpa and would rarely miss an opportunity to watch his grandchildren’s sporting events.

Stan never enjoyed the spotlight and to respect his wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at Riverview Community Centre on Thursday, May 15, 2025. They are located at 90 Ashland Avenue. Time 1:30 – 5:00 p.m. to pay your respects and tell your stories. Light lunch and refreshments will be available.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart & Stroke Foundation or a Charity of your choice in the family’s name.
