The Anderson/Dunlop family is so saddened by the loss of Steve Patrick, our dear neighbour for many years at Falcon Lake. We got to know the Patrick family over the years and Steve could be characterized as the definition of a gentleman. We have fond memories of many activities shared with three generations of the Patrick /Dunlop/Anderson families, water skiing, in the sauna, kayaking, swimming the lake, inspired by Steve's love of fitness. He will be missed, but his spirit carries on with the next generations. We regret that we are unable to attend his service, as we are out of town. With love, Lee and Wayne

When Steven called with the sad news on Sunday, it broke our hearts. So many good memories came rushing to mind (hockey with the boys, skiing at Banff, working in the elections, house parties and visits to the lake) to name a few. We will keep June and the rest of the Patrick family in our prayers. We will always remember you Steve.May God have mercy on his soul and may perpetual light shine on him.

Steve is an all-time Winnipeg Blue Bomber great and he made a significant contribution to the Blue Bomber Alumni and the community. It was my pleasure to know and work with Steve. He was a good friend and a true gentleman. My sincere condolences to the Patrick family.

Our hearts and thoughts are with you in this difficult time. Mr. Patrick, Mrs. Patrick (June-bug) and their entire family have had a tremendous impact on our lives and the character of all the Patricks is a testament to the great leader, mentor and father Steve Patrick was. His legacy and character will live on through his children and children's children for many generations to come.

My deepest condolences and prayers to the entire family.Mr. Patrick was an important role model for me, growing up in Winnipeg as his daughter Sandra's friend since the age of ten and now some forty plus years later, as life long friends of the family. Having spent much time at the family home on Red Robin Place and at the family cottage, I was the recipient of many wonderful life lessons, experiences and opportunities provided by Mr.Patrick, as a result of his old world values, caring and generosity. Mr. Patrick included me in family ski vacations, to Aspen and Banff (one along with Gordie Roland and his family). I cherish those fun times and memories. Along with skiing, there was snowmobiling and many other great experiences including many discussions about values, history, politics. I feel blessed to have had Mr. Patrick play such a prominent role in my life growing up; he was always respectful, kind, caring and generous. He gave of himself not only to the community but to all those that were lucky enough to know him. May Mrs. Patrick and the entire family find comfort in knowing how much Mr. Patrick was loved, appreciated and respected.

Dear June and family -So surprised and saddened that son Barry called Kay last night to tell us that we had just lost Steve. We have been living at opposite ends of Red Robin since there were few houses on the street, and just recently Steve and I shared next beds for several days at Grace hospital where he was very active and articulate as we chatted about his glory days in sport, with many mutually known sports folks, some of whom were also neighbours. That's why the news came as such an unexpected surprise. So our community in general and our personal community have both been much diminished.June, we have been blessed with a life well-lived and a host of wonderful memories.

I consider myself extremely blessed to have had the opportunity to work for Mr. Steve Patrick for approximately 15 years. Steve was so very kind, always supportive and more of a teacher, a mentor than a boss. He would occasionally come and sit in the front office when it was quiet and relay a story. If you listened carefully there was always an underlying message to be learned. The messages were seldom work related but more so about life, about the choices we make and how our actions define us. Steve was so very knowledgeable, so very supportive and I know that I am a better person for having known him. To his dearest June, their 7 beautiful children and their dear grandchildren I offer my deepest sympathy during this difficult time. Steve, Thanks for the Memories, You'll Live Forever in My Heart.

To the entire Patrick Family...my heartfelt condolences. I have many fond memories of time spent with Mr. Patrick...lunches at the Assiniboine...going to the arena with him to watch one of his boys play hockey...going with him to Bomber Games...building a deck with him and Stephen in Stephen's backyard...that was interesting:) ... Advice lessons in his office...always fun times:). He was a Great Man who genuinely cared about Family, People and Community. I visited Mr. Patrick in the hospital a handful of times this past summer ....Each and every time...like always the same three questions to the start of the conversation ...How are the kids? How are you? Did you sell anything today? Then we would have conversations of things that I had forgotten ....till he reminded me of them:). Along with many others...I will miss him.

So sorry to hear about Steve. He was a gentleman and always very kind. HE suggested that I try Insurance out several years ago and I am still in the business. I live in BC now but my roots are deep in Winnipeg. Steve was so well known and so well liked. I will always remember him fondly.

Steve Patrick was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1988 as an athlete in football but his life and legacy were so much more than that. Our sympathies to the entire Patrick family on the passing of a great man.

Steve was an outstanding member of Rotary for over 40 years and contributed so much to Rotary and its goals during this time. Steve was one of the founding members of this Rotary Club back in 1976 and continued as an active member even though his health was deteriorating and prevented Steve from attending regular meetings in recent times.We have lost a great man and will miss Steve very much.

Mr. Patrick always had time for an almost daily visit from a 6 year old at his office for my childhood school days at Linwood.A precious, gentle, patient man who probably had more important things to do, yet HE made the time for me ....kinda like being my 'cookie-mom'.Within the past 5 or 6 years I saw him at the 'Big A' with the group and he recognized me. 🙂 He was very kind to mom when she ran his campaign.Such a wonderful real person ... hoping mom and others were there to greet and welcome him on his new journey.Much respect and kind thoughts for the entire family .... and thank you for sharing with so many .... sure that he made a difference in all those lives.

The family of the late Gordon E. Johnston was saddened to hear of the passing of Steve Patrick on January 11. 2014. Steve and our father sat together in the Manitoba Legislature from 1962 until 1977, and our dad had great respect for Steve's commitment to his constituents and his community of St. James. Steve and dad met almost weekly for lunch from 1977 until our father's death in 2005, and they no doubt discussed civic and provincial politics and the fortunes of their beloved 'Bombers'. Winnipeg is a better place because of Steve Patrick, and our sincere condolences go out to June, his kids and their families.

Steve Patrick was a true man for others. Duty, honor and service is what I learned from this Giant of a man. Giant not only in stature but in his contribution to community and Canada. To Steve Patrick's Family,My dad Glenn McWhinney was friends with your dad. I have met some of you but I had not met your dad, although I feel I knew him. He sounds like a wonderful person and a man that had a lot to be proud of. Especially his family. My dad passed away almost 2 years ago at age 82 and I would like to say that our dads toughed it out for their kids and now we must do the same. Steve will be missed. Be strong.
