Susan Chezick  (May 1949 – May 2025)

Susan Chezick (1949 – 2025) age 75, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2025, surrounded by her friends and family.

Susan is survived by her husband of 59 years Alfred, son Dean and daughter-in-law Maria, foster children Sophie and Albert, brothers Garry and Arthur and their families, many nieces and nephews and her beloved cat Lucy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter & Jean Tirschman, brother George and sisters Judy and Louise.

Susan was born in Whitemouth, MB. 1 of 6 children and spent her childhood in Seven Sisters Falls, at her parents’ home as well as the nearby Tirschman family farm. Her life adventures would take her to Calgary and various northern Canadian locations where she cooked for labour/mining camps. She was known for her quick wit, top notch culinary skills and prowess at cards. If you ever played Crib or Double Solitaire against her, you know!

Susan enjoyed cooking, visiting friends and family, playing cards and entertaining. She especially treasured Tuesdays at Days for Girls at the River Hills Lutheran Church and hanging out with her friends in the ‘sewing circle’.

Susan did not want a funeral service. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba or a charity of your choice.

The family wishes to thank the CancerCare Teams in Winnipeg and Pinawa, and the wonderful care of the Pinawa palliative doctors, nurses and aides.
