On Wednesday, March 28, 2018 Therese (Terry) Fawcett passed away in St. Boniface Hospital shortly after her 87th birthday, surrounded by the love of her family.
The beloved only daughter of the late Andrew and Betty Spanier, Terry was the deeply loved wife of Albert Fawcett, who predeceased her in 2004.
Terry was a devoted mother of five. Memories of her will be held dear by her surviving children: Sandra (Eric Garsonnin), Deborah (William Davis), Elizabeth and John (Jennifer Schroeder) Fawcett. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren spent many precious days with her. Left to carry on her legacy are Andrew Fawcett, Jason MacDonald (partner Kristen McCabe and children Abby, Penny and Holly); David MacDonald (partner Lori -Ann and children Caleb, Hanna and Sam), and step-granddaughter Nadine Bracke (and children Zachary, Brittany and Annie). She was predeceased by her son Gregory in 2013.
The family wishes to thank Terry’s devoted caregivers Cindy and Rose, whose friendship and caring made her last year more pleasurable and comfortable. Thanks are due as well to the full staff of Golden Links Lodge, Mom’s home for the past three years. We appreciated knowing she was supported in a safe and secure environment by people who truly cared about her. The doctors and nurses of the emergency room, palliative care team and unit 6 A South at St. Boniface Hospital were caring and supportive beyond measure in Mom’s final week. Your professionalism is deeply appreciated by the family.
A Celebration of Life to mark the passing of this elegant, capable and loving woman will be held later in summer. Details to follow in June.
