TRAVIS DAVIS

September 14, 2014

TRAVIS THOMAS LESLIE DAVIS Accidentally on Sunday, September 14, 2014 Travis died at the age of 27 years in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Left to forever cherish Travis’ memory are his little daughter Kenzi; Kenzi’s mother Kait Porth (and her parents Tim and Laurie); parents Helen Davis and Lyle Boyd; stepsisters Diane (Marc Payette) and Linda; niece Sophie Payette; grandparents Ed and Merle Boyd; half-brother Justin Davis; as well as by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents Tom and Marge Newstrom; Leslie and Kathleen Davis; half-brother Bradley Davis; and biological father Keith Davis. Travis grew up in St. James, mostly in the Crestview area. His smiling face, pleasant disposition and willingness to help anyone in need earned him many lasting friendships over the years, including their families. Travis would gladly give you the shirt off his back. His greatest love was his daughter Kenzi who is just over one year old. Travis was a very good father and had many plans for her future. His passion for hockey was shared by his parents and family, especially Grandpa N. who kept stats on every game he played from age five through to grade 12. Travis played for Deer Lodge, Assiniboia West, AA Canadians and finally the JT Piper Hockey Team. Many wonderful summers were spent at the lake at Spruce Sands where he made many lasting friendships. The Boyd family cabin was another favourite pastime with Grandma and Grandpa Boyd, family and friends. He loved working outdoors and learned brick-laying but preferred water and sewer and driving heavy equipment. Travis was employed for some years by Tallieu Construction but had been recently hired by Maple Leaf Construction. He had hopes for a long career with them. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, September 22, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in Westwood Community Church, 401 Westwood Drive. The family would like to thank the valiant effort made by the Winnipeg Paramedics, Firemen and Police who tried so hard to revive Travis and for their compassion and care. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a Trust Fund set up for Kenzi Davis at Royal Bank of Canada, 3297 Portage Avenue at Parkhill Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba. The account number is 02147 5048368. The funds will be used to ensure Kenzi can enjoy such things as extra-curricular activities, sports and a future education, all of which Travis planned for his daughter. Wojcik’s Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 2157 Portage Avenue, 204.897.4665, is in care of arrangements. wojciksfuneralchapel.com Travis touched the hearts of everyone he met. He will be greatly missed by all.Publish Date: Sep 20, 2014TRAVIS THOMAS LESLIE DAVIS Accidentally on Sunday, September 14, 2014 Travis died at the age of 27 years in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
