VALERIE JACQUELINE ANTONATION

Peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, November 4, 2017, Valerie Jacqueline Antonation (nee Kropp) passed away at the age of 70 years.    Valerie was a beloved wife of 40 years to husband Mervin; loving mom to children, Tammy, Guy (Terri), and Darren (Christine); devoted Omi to grandchildren Crystal, Taylor, Justin, Jake, Lily and Emersynn; and eldest sister to Joey (Sharon), Linda (Ron), and Bunny (Richard). She will be forever remembered by special friends Barb (Henry) and Marli (Karl). Valerie was predeceased by her mom Dolly and her dad Hank; baby sister and grandchild Eastynn.   On June 6, 1947 Valerie was born in Winnipeg. As the eldest child she would often take care of her younger siblings, especially in the summer which she enjoyed. Valerie was always a nurturer especially of her family, you could always turn to her if you had a problem. She was a hard worker and eventually retired as an employee at a securities company, where she made many long-lasting friendships which she valued. Valerie was an avid reader, road trip junkie and couldn’t resist a good farmers market. An affectionate Omi, Valerie always enjoyed visits from her grandchildren and loved spoiling them.    A private gathering will occur in the springtime.    A very special thank you to the Renal Health Clinic at St Boniface, 5 North staff at the Grace Hospital and the staff at GA3 at HSC for the incredibly compassionate care given to Valerie.    If so desired donations in Valerie’s name can be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.   Wojcik’s Funeral Chapels & Crematoriums, Winnipeg, 2157 Portage Avenue, 204.897.4665 www.wojciksfuneralchapel.com
