VERA ERIKA PHILIPSEN (nee Stoltze) March 9, 1936 – January 8, 2015 It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Vera Philipsen on Thursday, January 8, 2015 in Concordia Hospital, at the age of 78 years. Left to forever cherish Vera’s memory are her beloved husband, Walter Philipsen, with whom she shared 26 happy years. She was mother to sons, Peter (Hanna), Michael (Alexis), and Stephan (Tina) Brandt, and “Mom” to sons Holger (Christine) and Soenke Philipsen; as well as grandmother to nine grandchildren. She was predeceased by her grandchild Anika in 2008. Vera was proud to retire after 15 years as Payroll Supervisor for Westfair Foods. She was a faithful member in her church and loved singing in the choir. Vera’s Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the New Apostolic Church, 1755 Taylor Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, with a Fellowship Lunch to follow.
