Wayne and Keith Smith were my mentors the first time I got the opportunity to work in the field when I started with PFRA in 1971. We were assigned in Brandon to supervise the installation of large sewer and watermain contracts. The three of us would drive there Monday morning and came home Friday evening together. Many happy memories of those early days in my career. Wayne and Keith where two of the best construction technicians working for PFRA. Their positive demenour, their good sense, their broad expertise, their deep knowledge of construction contracts and their vast experience made them valuable members of the the PFRA field crews and much respected by private contractors employed to build large water development projects throughout rural Manitoba.
