WIESLAWA KOSTYRKA

It is with deep sadness that we announce passing of our mom on Tuesday 17, 2024 at Charleswood Care Centre.

Mom is survived by her daughter (Elzbieta), her son (George), sister (Barbara), grandsons: Jerzy, Marek, Andrzej and Marek, and great grandchildren: Thomas, Zyra, Suzanna, Carina and Lisi.

Mom was born on September 1, 1923 in Tomaszow Mazowiecki, Poland. On her 16 birthday the Second World War started. She married Jozef soon after the war ended. The love for her family led her and her husband to emigrate to Canada following her daughter.

The last 2 years she lived in Charleswood Care Centre and cherished the friendship with the residents and caring community. Our family wishes to thank the Charleswood staff for their care and compassion during Wieslawa’s time there.

She loved all people around her, spreading her kindness, smile or help. She prayed for her family, her friends and whoever asked her to. Yes, she prayed a lot!

She is going to be greatly missed.

The funeral will be held on Monday, December 30 at 11am at St Andrew Bobola Catholic Church, the viewings will be from 10 to 11am following the Holy Mass. The resting place is the Holy Ghost Cemetery. The family invites everyone after the cemetery to the reception at Wojcik’s Funeral Chapels at 1020 Main Street.
