Bill was a gentle and good man, and is survived by his wife and best friend Monika of 47 years of marriage. He loved and was very proud of his children, son Chris (Sara) of Winnipeg and daughter Jenny of Vancouver. Bill will be missed by his sister Ruth of Kiel, Germany. He leaves his many loving nieces, nephews and extended family with memories they will always cherish. He was a loving father, husband, brother, uncle and friend to all. As a young man, Bill came to Canada and started his new life and many new adventures. He had a real passion for his work and a strong work ethic in whatever he did. He always loved his vacations – family camping trips, sunny getaways, or visiting family and friends in Europe. Bill enjoyed the outdoors, be it capturing the next great photograph, fishing up the Winnipeg River, or tending to his garden and flowers. He also enjoyed attending church and was a long-standing member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Mostly, he looked forward to family suppers and get-togethers. He was a handyman, and was always there to help his family and friends with household projects or whatever fix-it job they needed help with. Funeral services for Bill will be in Gloria Dei Lutheran Church at 637 Buckingham Road in Winnipeg on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. A special thank you to all the caring doctors, nurses and health care aides along the way.
