Our condolences go out to Jim's family. we were his neighbor for 11 years. Kyle as a small boy spent many hours hanging with Jim in the garage. Also Jim took Kyle to the car races. Jim was a very very caring and helpful guy. Rest in peace Jim.

Jim was my friend for over 50 years, we grew up on the same street. He was 5 years older than me but always had time to talk or in most cases give me a hard time. He had the coolest cars usually fast and loud. Then he married my sister and he became family. Jim was the best brother-in-law a person could ask for always there to help. If it wasnt for Jim's kindness and patience with my mother her life would have been much more difficult. Dor this I cannot say thankyou enough. I will miss you my friend you will always be my bother-in-law Gary Yasinsky

I do not know where to begin, I have known Jim for 20 yrs +, we became Very Very Very close friends (he was family to me and my family). I would confide with him and vice versa. Jim was always willing to help anyone any time of the day or night. We had great times in your garage where he was at home always working at something. Jim took pride in everything he did. I will miss my Wednesday and Saturday get togethers and the occasional Sunday mornings. Jim enjoyed life to the fullest with family and friends. You are no longer in pain, you fought a long hard fight and I will surely miss our get togethers. RIP my friend, I cannot begin to say how much I will miss you until we meet again. I have many fond memories of Jim. He was a member of my first homeroom class at Britannia in 1963-64. We had ongoing contact over the years while Richard & Kelly attended schools of which I was Principal. We met again while our mothers recuperated at Grace Hospital. Rest in peace, Jim!

Hey, can I borrow your pickup?October 16, 2013 at 10:17pmYesterday morning an ambulance pulled up across the street from our house. It was our neighbour, Jim. We found out this summer that Jim had cancer, and even just the day before yesterday, saw Jim driving his blue little pickup truck down the street. Jim was a nice guy, and every time I went over and asked him for a hand, he was giving me what I needed before I could even ask.I remember a few years ago I bought something from Canadian Tire and I couldn't get it home. I drove home discouraged, and Jim was outside across the street. I asked him if he had any ideas on how I could fit it into the back of my vehicle, and he just took the keys to his pickup out of his pocket and GAVE them to me.Before that moment, I don't think him and I had known each other more than 15 minutes combined.Last year I needed to get some lumber from the store, but there was a big snowmobile on the back of my truck that had to come off first. I went and told Jim my problem, and he offered to give me any lumber he had. I declined, saying he needed it, that I should just go buy some, and before I even could finish the sentence, he tossed the keys to his truck at me with a smile.Jim wasn't just giving his truck, he was giving his heart. And Jim never expected a favour in return, or to be paid back. I'm going to miss Jim. The world is going to miss Jim.For every time a generous person like Jim passes away, a little light goes out in this dark world. But, a person like Jim inspires a lot of people along the way to change for the better. We should all try and be people that change the world, with one simple act of kindness or generosity at a time.

Jim was such a kind caring guy with a heart of gold. He would do anything for anybody. He took pride and care in his work. I will miss visiting him in his garage listening to his funny stories. He sure had a great way with words! You will be missed my friend.
