WILLIAM (BILL) HOWARD JACQUES It is with deep regret we announce the passing of William (Bill) Howard Jacques of Winnipeg, MB on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 67 years. Left to cherish Bill’s memory are his beloved wife Maryann Dick; son Craig Jacques (granddaughter Tessa); daughter Camille Anyadike (Kenneth, granddaughters Kyra and Taylor); sister Darla MacDonald (Ron); niece Debbie Kyrlychuck (Ed); nephew Bill MacDonald (Wanda); great-nephews Nathan and Jason MacDonald (Tanya, great-great-niece Alexa); stepson David Dick (Sarah, step-grandchildren Emily and Reese); sister-in-law Rose Anne Rempel (George); father-in-law John Hayka, and cousins Karen Jacques, Diane Devenney, and Judy Swedburg. He was predeceased by parents Howard and Helen Jacques (nee Wilson). Bill was a loving husband, brother, father, uncle, and grandfather. He was a restauranteur with a passionate entrepreneurial spirit, who owned several Smitty’s Family Restaurants for over 29 years. He had a passion for food, and was an exceptional chef. Bill loved animals, and travel. He enjoyed watching golf, and never missed a Jets game or a PGA major tournament. On Friday, February 21, 2014 Bill’s Funeral Service was held at 10:30 a.m. in Westwood Community Church, 401 Westwood Drive, Winnipeg, with Mr. Michael Elertson, presider.
