I (John) am writing this on behalf of my 90-year old father, Jack Purvis. Jack and Bill grew-up together in Goole (England) and were best friends. Dad often reminisces fondly about their childhood adventures and experiences, and in particular about their small band, with Bill on piano and dad on guitar. Condolences to the family; our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I had the pleasure of working with Bill starting in 1962 - he was a great co-worker at Bristol and a very humorous person - also, he was highly thought of by myself and his colleagues. I was so sorry to hear of his passing and remember him with fondness. My thoughts are with his family.

It must be 20 years since I've seen Bill. I think often of his talent and his absolute joy at the piano. Condolences to his family and close friends.

We are so sorry for your loss. My dad, Norman Field, valued his friendship dearly. He had a lot of respect for him and so proud of his accomplishments and his family. My dad has since passed. Fond memories were shared as we watched the boys play hockey on the tv. Maybe they are together again. The stories they would share!
