WILLIAM RONALD (RON) POWERS
APRIL 12, 1946 – FEBRUARY 17, 2025
It is with great sadness that the family announces his passing on Monday, February 17, after a short battle with cancer. He will always be remembered by his wife, Wendy of 45 years, his son‘s Scot (Kelly) of Calgary, Matthew (Janelle), Chris (Dayna); and 8 grandkids- Jenelle, Rylee, Casey, Danika, Corie, Roland, Felix and Logan. He will also be missed by his sister and brothers, in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Ron spent his career in the office furniture business, but his love was the great outdoors, whether hunting, fishing or riding motorcycles. He passed on his great knowledge of all of this to his sons and grandkids.
He loved to entertain everyone with stories of his motocross adventures, which started at the age of 16. Here, he made many lifelong friends. His love for this, took him to restoring vintage bikes and helping his grandsons fix theirs.
He looked forward to fall and hunting, though he didn’t get out much- but he loved being outdoors. His greatest adventure was “the great black bear hunt”. He loved telling his family this story many times over.
Cremation has taken place and no memorial is planned for this time. His ashes will be spread by his family this summer. He will be forever in our hearts and thoughts. Ron will be deeply missed.
